I am inthe process of cloning a PS Instance (Actually a DEMO, moving to another box). I exported SYSADM schema and imported. PS_HOME, TUXEDO, WEBLOGIC are moved as well. PS user is there but no PSDBOWNER table. I configured the APPSERVER but unable to boot it up. It fails with "Unable to login to Database". I am using VP1 in the psappsrv.cfg config file to connect. I even changed VP1 password a couple of times but no help. I tried to connect through Datamover, using SYSADM I can connect in bootstrap mode but I can't connect normally using VP1 via DataMover. What I m missing?

I tried to understand by enabling trace, all in-vain?


Please help me to understand, where its going wrong?

To add somemore info:

Connect ID is PSCON and it connects well with TOAD using PSCON.
The indexes were not imported. Do I need them! as this is just for 1 time test if PS is working on the box, no performance or load test.
All the passwords are encrypted.

It'll be SLOW without indexes. But it should work, eventually.

You do need PS.PSDBOWNER. You won't be able to log on without that one.

Thanks Martin. Yeah my understanding was right then. I need that PSDBOWNER. In this case can I explicitly create the table and make entry?

Even i have a similar problem.
I have two instances on a linux box. One is a demo instance and the other clone of the demo.
In my case i do have the PSDBOWNER record..still i am unable to make the application server domain up.
I dont know whats the problem in my case.
The log says cant sign on to database using VP1.

It would be of great help if any inputs..

I got resolved with the problem by just deleting the domain configuration and recreating it..
